Club News
Today, several club members and family volunteered at Respectacle in Hudson, WI. Respectacle is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that uses the power of the Internet to facilitate redistribution of quality, used eyeglasses to underserved communities worldwide. Glasses are donated by members of our community. They are then cleaned, categorized, and loaded into their online database based on their prescription. A proprietary algorithm finds a "closest match" for people looking for eye wear. Our members cleaned glasses before they were photographed and cataloged for distribution.

The Stillwater Sunrise and Stillwater Noon Rotary clubs secured a Rotary 5960 district grant and presented it to the city of Stillwater to purchase benches and bike racks for the city’s new Bridgeview Park.  The park runs along the St. Croix river,  south of downtown Stillwater and is part of the recently completed riverbank restoration project.

On Saturday, September 17th Stillwater's new Bridgeview Park and it’s trails were officially opened. And the "doers" of the Stillwater Sunrise and Stillwater Noon clubs were on hand to combine their efforts to remove invasive buckthorn and black locust trees from the new park. This work supports the riverbank restoration project, as the city works to re-establish native plants along the St. Croix. Check out some pictures from the day in our album.
Over ninety guests and members attended the celebration held on September 8th at Rustic Roots. The event highlighted over 24,500 lives that were impacted in 2021-2022 for local, regional, and international projects, initiatives, and events. During the event Stillwater Sunrise Rotary awarded Paul Harris Fellow Service Awards to eight recipients for their extraordinary efforts over the past year.  Please click read more for details. And check out the pictures from the event in our albums.
On September 6, the city of Stillwater awarded member Jon Stillman a Certificate of Appreciation for his community service in Stillwater. The picture shows mayor Ted Kozlowski presenting the well-deserved award to Jon. More pictures are available in our albums. Jon has achieved international recognition for his lifetime of service - you can see more information in our stories archive.
Sara Letourneau let us know that our smart and charming Spanish exchange student Leyra has arrived!  Sara extended a big thanks to Mark Lambert who very generously provided  6 tickets for the Saturday night pre-season Vikings game which they all  thoroughly enjoyed.  Also a big thanks to Dr. Lenny Snellman who saved the day for Leyra.  She had expressed her desire to be on the Stillwater Swim Team but hadn't had a physical which was required to be on the team.  Dr. Lenny arrived at Sara's home, gave Leyra the physical and voila... she is now a member of the Swim Team. Leyra will come to a Tuesday meeting in the near future so we can all meet her.
