Mr. Thomas J. Simonet currently serves as Minnesota State Chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) after serving as a volunteer member, Unit Liaison, Deputy Minnesota Region 7 Chair, and Minnesota Vice Chair.  He has volunteered with ESGR for the past 12 years. 

For civilian experience, Mr. Simonet retired as a Vice President from Wells Fargo and Company in July 2017 after 34 years of service.  As a Business System Consultant and manager, he focused on system applications designed to balance and control retirement services of 401k and pension plan accounting.

His military experience finished with the US Air Force Reserve as an Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer coordinating federal military assistance to devastated areas after man-made or natural disasters.  He also served with the Minnesota Air National Guard holding command leadership positions at the group, squadron and flight levels.  Mr. Simonet retired in January 2014 from military, as a colonel, with 36 years of active, guard and reserve service.

Mr. Simonet supports other charitable organizations as a board member to include; Washington County Historical Society, Stillwater Veterans Memorial, Minnesota National Guard Youth Camp, Minnesota Air National Guard Historical Foundation and was on the board for Wells Fargo Veteran Team Member Network.  His board positions include being the chairperson, treasurer and board member at large.    

Mr. Simonet received his undergraduate education from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN, and his Master in Business Administration from American Military University in 2014.  He is also a graduate of the United States Air War College by correspondence and Joint Professional Military Education.  He is a life-long resident of Stillwater, Minnesota
 

Wendy will be leading a 2.25 mile hike starting in front of the Stillwater  gazebo at 3:30 that afternoon.(Meet at 3:20, walk at 3:30)   This will be a moderately strenuous hike with plenty of uphill in the first half mile then leveling out. Anyone who is used to walking several miles regularly should be fine.  Those preferring a less strenuous option can also meet in front of the gazebo at 3:20 and do a shorter walk along the river front or simply enjoy the view from picnic table or bench in Lowell park. If it’s raining we will skip the walk and just meet at Charlie’s at 4:30 for Happy Hour.

Dr. Michael & Sylvia Lovett - Family Camp for North Korean Refugees

The June 23rd hike plan is to gather at the Brown's Creek park AKA Neal Avenue Water Stop at 4:00 PM.  We will walk west to a mid-point where Lenny and I will have liquid refreshments (water, soda, beer, etc.) to share.  Then back to the Water Stop.  I would estimate a 60-90 minute excursion depending on how fast we walk, how long the mid-point break takes, etc.  Family members / guests are certainly welcome but we would like to get an idea on Tuesday regarding interest so we have the appropriate refreshment supply

We're back for our annual epic event in the beautiful St. Croix Valley. We had an awesome event last year and have increased ride support and rest stops this year to enhance your day.

Free performance by The Firefly Trio (string group) in Rogers back yard for club members, guests and families. Music from 6:30-8. Arrive between 6 and 6:15 to socialize a bit before the music starts. Bring your own chair, beverage, and snacks if desired.
